ISTANBUL GRAND AIRPORT (PPP)

Istanbul Grand Airport(IGA) or Third Airport is an international airport which is still under construction in Arnavutköy district on the European side of Istanbul. The airport will be the largest airport in the world, with a 200 million passenger annual capacity. It was planned due to lack of capacity in the existing airports of Istanbul. It will be the third international airport to be built in Istanbul after Istanbul Atatürk Airport and Sabiha Gökçen International Airport. As of June 2017, 56% of the construction of the airport has been completed. The construction started in 2014. The airport will consist of 6 runways, the first 3 runways will be operational in 2018 and the rest in 2023.
